Another 4 miles. Much easier today. No pains at all but exercised a bit soon after eating so had to make an effort to keep it all down at one point.

Completed another 4 miles in the gym. Knees were fine today, couple of twinges but no problem. Shins gave me some pain for the first 10 minutes and then gradually got better. Suunto training manager has now updated my activity level to 8 - regional level. No idea what that means. I'm certainly not going to be breaking any regional running records anytime soon!

I was supposed to have 2 rest days after the 10 mile run but due to last weeks bad toe incident I've got myself behind by a day so I had to miss a days rest. My knees were very unhappy with the whole situation and generally nagged me for the whole run so even though today is down as a 4 miler I compromised and ran 3 miles, walked 1. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day

Well, I did it! I ran 10 miles with no stopping! Ran from the flat, down to Putney bridge and down the thames path for 5 miles then turned round and headed back. I'm now thoroughly tired out and have no more to say on the matter. No major problems but I feel that tomorrow may be just a little painful.

Struggled to do 4 miles tonight. My calves and shins started complaining within 5 minutes of starting off but I eventually ran through it after around 20 minutes. No major post run complaints although it feels like I've bruised a muscle in my left hip.

Went to Bridgend for their 8am opening time. Completed another easy 4 miles. No pains no bother. Lovely! (I still hate running though!)

Arrived at Bridgend too late today - they close at 7:00pm on the weekend. Stupidly I thought they'd do the same times as Wandsworth (8 & 9pm). Ah well, it gave me an excuse to go out in the car I suppose. Got back and Claire took me out to Llantrisant common so I could try out a bit of off road running. It went quite well considering I wasn't used to dodging streams and the odd enthusiastic dog. I completed the 4 miles in 43 minutes.

In Cardiff this weekend so popped down to Bridgend for a nice easy 4 miles. Wow, I can still remember struggling to complete 1 mile. How did 4 miles get so easy? 9.6 kph (6 mph) for 40 minutes = 4 miles. Not checked out what the t6 thought to today's run but in the last week the software has bumped up my activity level from level 7 (run over 10 miles per week) through 7.5 (municipal level - what does that mean?) to 8 (Regional/provincial level). I don't care what my activity level is I certainly won't be competing at a regional level for anything! I don't think it'll be moving me much higher than that as 8.5 is national, 9 is national championship and 9.5 is world-class.

Ran a slightly slower pace today of 9.5 kph (normally 9.6kph). Ran for 61 minutes to make up the 6 miles I'm scheduled to do tomorrow. Will attempt a 4 miler early tomorrow morning to make up the mileage for this week. Felt good all the way through. Perhaps 9.5 kph is a better speed for me to be able to get through the miles.
Now the part that squeemish may want to skip - the toe that has been hurting me the last few days finally erupted on me today. I got back to the flat and it was looking rather white instead of the inflamed red it has been. One slight squeeze and the pus mountain erupted.

Did 4 miles today at a nice steady 6 mph for 40 minutes. Wasn't too easy and I did have to mentally force myself on to the 4 mile mark. But that may not be too surprising when you consider I had to skip yesterday's run due to my left big toe becoming infected. I could hardly walk yesterday. Today things weren't so bad but it was still painful to run on. I ignored it until it went away. I'm hoping it won't punish me too much tomorrow!
