3rd day in a row of running 4 miles. Found it a bit difficult today but ran all the way to 4 miles. I think the humidity and heat in the gym got to me as my heart rate was above 180 before I even completed 3 miles. May run outdoors tomorrow to see how it affects my performance.

Completed another 4 miles in the gym tonight. Heart rate was still higher than normal but no problems with pain today so I ran straight through to the 4 mile mark.

I was supposed to do 4 miles on Saturday but skipped it thinking I'd just make up for it on Sunday. Then I ran out of time on Sunday so had to skip it again. Now to make up for it I'm going to have to lose a rest day this week which means today was the start of 4 days running 4 miles. I will have one rest day on Friday before attempting 12 miles on Saturday.
Today's run didn't go very well as my left shin started hurting within the first 5 minutes. It also appears that the gym air conditioning could be malfunctioning again as it was rather warm. My heart rate was up to 170 before I'd even done 20 minutes.

Got another 3 miles out of the way in Bridgend. Ran with a slight incline - 1 for 15 minutes, 2 for 11 minutes and 3 for 4 minutes. Managed to keep the pace up and climbed a total of 72 metres. It looks as though the steepest point on the great north run will require climbing 20 metres in a mile followed by another 10 metres in the next mile. It's in the first 5 miles so I think I may just survive it. Especially as the first 2 miles are downhill!

The second day in a row of doing 5 miles and it seemed a little easier today! No pains and kept the pace going to the end.

Completed another 5 miles this evening. No pains but the gym was hotter than it has been recently so my heart rate got up a bit higher than usual before the 4 mile mark. Not too much of a problem but it didn't help that the treadmill I chose was faster (according to my Suunto) than most of the others I'd used recently!

Another 4 miles. Much easier today. No pains at all but exercised a bit soon after eating so had to make an effort to keep it all down at one point.

Completed another 4 miles in the gym. Knees were fine today, couple of twinges but no problem. Shins gave me some pain for the first 10 minutes and then gradually got better. Suunto training manager has now updated my activity level to 8 - regional level. No idea what that means. I'm certainly not going to be breaking any regional running records anytime soon!

I was supposed to have 2 rest days after the 10 mile run but due to last weeks bad toe incident I've got myself behind by a day so I had to miss a days rest. My knees were very unhappy with the whole situation and generally nagged me for the whole run so even though today is down as a 4 miler I compromised and ran 3 miles, walked 1. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day

Well, I did it! I ran 10 miles with no stopping! Ran from the flat, down to Putney bridge and down the thames path for 5 miles then turned round and headed back. I'm now thoroughly tired out and have no more to say on the matter. No major problems but I feel that tomorrow may be just a little painful.
